Technical Features: Latin and Cyrillic scripts are the most common. 85% of ccTLDs use their own registration software. Only 25% support homoglyph bundling for security.
Registrations: There are approximately 4.4 million second-level IDNs globally, making up 1.2% of the domain name market. Major ccTLDs include .рф, .de, and .cn. Growth in IDN registrations is generally slow.
Perception: 43% of registries see IDNs as important for internet accessibility. However, end-user awareness is low, with a rating of 2.5 out of 5. Universal Acceptance is viewed as critical for IDN uptake.
